What is the Admissions Process for USC Upstate Online Programs?

You’re ready to take the next step, and we’ve made it easy to get started. Our fully online application process lets you begin anytime, work at your own pace, and pick from multiple start dates throughout the year. Wherever you’re coming from, your journey upward begins the moment you apply.

Every journey has a starting point. Below are key upcoming start dates, though specific deadlines vary by program. We recommend submitting your application early, so you’ll have plenty of time to complete each step of the enrollment process, from acceptance to course registration and tuition payment.

How to Apply

  • Fill out the online application.
  • Submit or waive the online application fee. Contact our enrollment team for details on how this fee may be waived.
    • Undergraduate Application Fee: $45
    • Graduate Application Fee: None
  • Submit all required documents.
    • Undergraduate applicants must submit the following:
      • Official transcripts from high school or GED
      • Official transcripts from each institution attended if transferring into USC Upstate
    • Graduate applicants must submit the following:
      • Official transcripts for all previous undergraduate and graduate study
      • Current CV or resume
      • Residency form with all requested information and supporting documents
      • Depending on the graduate program selected, some applicants may be required to submit letters of recommendation, a statement of intent and more
    • Speak with a student engagement specialist from our enrollment team to learn more about admissions requirements.

Transfer Students

Does USC Upstate Accept Transfer Credits?

We gladly accept transfer students into our programs at USC Upstate. In addition to an application, you will need to submit official transcripts from all schools you have attended and any other supplemental materials, if necessary. You will receive an email with a link to track your application status. For questions or more information, please call 833-814-8322.

  • You must be in good academic standing at the last college you attended
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA is required
  • You may transfer the following credits* earned prior to attending USC Upstate, subject to rules and restrictions:
    • Maximum of 90 applicable credits toward a bachelor’s program
    • Maximum of 9 applicable credits toward a master’s or post-master’s program
  • Your transcript will be evaluated for transfer credit after the application deadline

International Students

Can International Students Attend USC Upstate Online?

At USC Upstate, the world comes together to learn, grow and aim higher. We’re proud to welcome international students who bring global perspectives and boundless potential to our community. To help you succeed from day one, we ask all applicants to demonstrate English language proficiency, but if you’re still on the way there, you may qualify for conditional admission.

Here’s what you’ll need to apply:

  • Proof of English proficiency with one of the following:
    • TOEFL iBT/Home 75 or above
    • IELTS Academic 6.5 or above
  • Official school records (transcripts, diplomas or certificates of study) translated into English
  • A course-by-course evaluation with GPA from a NACES-approved company if you’ve completed university-level coursework outside the U.S.
  • Completed application for admission with a $100 application fee
