Dr. Charles F. Harrington, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Charles F. Harrington

Dr. Charles F. Harrington is a seasoned academic leader, educator and scholar with over three decades of experience in higher education. He brings a rich background in academic administration, institutional research and interdisciplinary teaching to USC Upstate. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Educational Research from Ohio University, an M.S. in Nonprofit Administration from Drexel University and a B.A. in Philosophy from Ohio University. Additionally, he is also a graduate of prestigious leadership programs at Harvard University, Virginia Tech and the U.S. Department of Education. Throughout his career, Dr. Harrington has held senior leadership roles, including Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at USC Upstate. As a scholar, Dr. Harrington has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with research interests spanning American Indian entrepreneurship, student retention, nonprofit leadership and interdisciplinary education.
